Diana

You lived your life in the public's eye
Discretion, a virtue that was held most high
You slipped from your pedestal, discretion took revenge
Your life is now over, a misfortune no end.

Continually pursued, you were media shy
Oh Diana, you lived a lie
Bound by conventions that have been long past
The media hounded you, but you have peace at last.

Struck down in the prime of your life... all six and thirty.
You cared for the sick, the poor, and the hurting.
Diana, the Princess of Wales has died
Come, let us all bow down our heads and cry.
