Now That You've Gone

Susan Rutherford, © August, 1995

Verse:

You may be gone but you're here in my heart.
Living Close by, in my memories.
Throughout your pain, your joys and fears,
You bore them all without any tears.

Chorus:

And now I cry for you are gone
The only one who could fill my heart with song
I will be brave, and carry on
But it will be hard... for you are gone.

Verse:

Now you are gone my heart is filled with tears
Although you wouldn't want me to grieve for years
A corner of my heart for you alone
A special love that is all my own.

Back to Chorus

Verse: (changed melody)

But you're not truly gone for you live within me
To guard and guide and keep my spirit flying free
As I sing this song, and while I breathe
You'll be alive always... in my memories.

Back to Chorus (extended)

"Now That You're Gone" is dedicated to Nancy Apps née Young
who was a second mother to me and who, sadly lost her fight
with breast cancer on the 3rd August 1995. She always called
me her little Pixie Icecream ;) and to this day it makes me smile.
A loving and caring lady who fought bravely and without
bitterness until the very end. I miss you and you live on in my
Heart.
